Little Mama

Found this Anna's hummingbird nest in California near my daughter's apartment. It was sheer luck that I found it. I watched the hummingbird flycatch and then fly into a large shrub. I noticed a small round shape...could it be? Yes, it was a hummingbird nest under construction. I've seen her add pieces to it over the last couple of days and as far as I can tell (vantage is difficult) there are no eggs in the nest yet. It would be fun to watch....alas, I leave California in a few days... Maybe I can persuade my daughter to monitor it...
